The DKC3937 hybrid sweet corn is a high-yielding, mid-ripening variety with a dent kernel type, designed for cultivation under various soil-climatic conditions, including the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 220-250 cm with a strong stalk and root system, ensuring resistance to lodging. Ear attachment height is 100-110 cm, and the ear contains 14-18 rows of kernels, each with 38-44 kernels, totaling 610-710 kernels per ear. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 300 to 350 g.
DKC3937 exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: cold and drought resistance are rated at 9 out of 10, enabling successful cultivation under conditions of insufficient moisture. Additionally, the variety shows high tolerance to common corn diseases such as common rust, stalk and ear fusarium, and resistance to root and stalk rot. The initial growth energy is high, promoting rapid plant development when sown at soil temperatures of 8 °C or higher.
The hybrid is adapted to various soil types, including sandy soils under adequate moisture, and is suitable for conventional, minimum, and No-tillage soil preparation methods. The recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 55,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare. DKC3937 can be grown both in monoculture and in crop rotation, demonstrating stability and adaptability under diverse agronomic conditions. Due to its characteristics, this hybrid is a leader in yield within its maturity group and is suitable for producing both grain and silage crops.
