Maize Fantastic

Working with Limagrain Fantastic

When selecting a hybrid, every farmer looks for the golden mean between yield potential and agricultural reliability. The Limagrain "Fantastic" is a hybrid that consistently delivers results, regardless of whether it is being used for grain or silage. From a hands-on perspective, the first thing you notice is its exceptional early vigor. The plants emerge evenly and aggressively, which is critical for establishing a healthy crop early in the season.

Health and Disease Resistance

Fusarium and smut are the primary threats to any corn operation. During field testing, the genetic resistance of "Fantastic" against Fusarium ear rot and common smut proved to be more than just a marketing claim. The stalks remain strong and resilient right up until harvest time, which significantly reduces the risk of lodging. This durability simplifies the harvesting process and keeps your machinery running efficiently without unexpected downtime caused by fallen crops.

Agronomic Management and Density

The flint-dent grain type provides a significant advantage during the drying process. It releases moisture effectively, which helps keep fuel costs down at the elevator. In terms of planting density, the hybrid is highly flexible. Depending on the soil fertility and available water, you can confidently plant anywhere from 60,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare.

Why it stands out

The French genetics behind the Limagrain brand are evident here. "Fantastic" is a low-maintenance, high-reward hybrid that handles environmental stress with ease. It is responsive to fertilizer, easy to harvest, and maintains structural integrity throughout the entire growth cycle. If you need a reliable workhorse for your farming operation that delivers consistent yields without complex, high-risk management, this hybrid is a top-tier candidate for your fields.
