Devís

The hybrid sweet corn Devís is a high-yielding, mid-ripening variety with a maturity phase of FAO 280, developed by the Grain Crops Institute of NAAN of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 230–240 cm, with a conical-cylindrical red ear 21–22 cm long, positioned at a height of 85–95 cm. The ear contains 14 rows of orange, round-oval kernels, with a 1000-kernel weight of 270–290 g. At harvest, grain yield reaches 82%, with protein content of 8.9–10.2% and starch content of 71.5–72.6%.

The hybrid Devís is characterized by high resistance to major diseases, lodging resistance, as well as enhanced drought, heat, and moderate cold tolerance. Due to improved water release compared to the hybrid DB Hotin, it is suitable for intensive cultivation in various regions, especially recommended for northern areas of Ukraine. Yield potential reaches 13–16 tons per hectare under favorable conditions, making it a profitable choice for both large agribusinesses and small farming enterprises.

Seed material is supplied in paper bags of 80,000 seeds, treated with the fungicide Maxim XL and the seed treatment Vibran 500FS, ensuring protection against diseases and improved germination. Deep soil preparation and a planting density of approximately 55,000 plants per hectare are recommended. The hybrid Devís is characterized by adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, stable yield, and high technological efficiency, confirming its status as a reliable and promising sweet corn variety.
