Description CUBAN 500 SV
Corn hybrid CUBAN 500 SV is a late-maturing variety with a vegetation period of about 112 days. The plant is tall with a long cylindrical ear and dent corn kernels, the upper part of which is yellow. The leaf blade is of medium width, slightly curved, and the anthocyanin pigmentation of roots and silk is weak or absent. The hybrid is characterized by high grain yield, averaging 57.8 centners per hectare in the North Caucasus region, and in some experimental farms exceeding 100 centners per hectare. The hybrid is resistant to several diseases, including southern helminthosporiosis, blister rust, and stalk rot, although bacterial disease affects it more severely. It is moderately susceptible to ear Fusarium and stalk borer damage. Due to its resistance and high productivity, CUBAN 500 SV is recommended for cultivation in Rostov Oblast and other regions of the North Caucasus. Corn is a warm-loving crop; seeds germinate at soil temperatures not lower than +8°C, but temperatures above +30°C may negatively affect flowering and pollination. The hybrid is suitable for both grain production and feeding purposes, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises considering the climatic conditions of the cultivation region.
