Hybrid sugar corn ARION (DMS Orion) is a mid-early variety with high yield potential, reaching up to 15 tons per hectare under optimal conditions. The plant is characterized by a height of approximately 190 cm and high ear attachment strength at 75 cm, contributing to resistance against lodging. Seeds have a toothed shape and dark yellow color, with kernel rows per ear ranging from 14 to 18. Ripening type — green leaf, ensuring effective moisture release during ripening and promoting high-quality harvest formation. ARION exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, including corn leaf aphid and corn borer. The hybrid shows high drought and heat tolerance, confirmed by maximum ratings for these parameters. Additionally, the variety demonstrates moderate cold tolerance and a pronounced Stay Green effect, which maintains plant viability under hydrothermal stress — especially important for cultivation across various climatic zones of Ukraine. Hybrid ARION is suitable for cultivation in a wide range of agroclimatic zones, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. Recommended planting density varies by region: 70–80 thousand plants per hectare in Polissia, 60–70 thousand in Forest Steppe, and 45–50 thousand in Steppe. Its fast maturation rate and adaptability to diverse conditions make this variety attractive for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality sugar corn harvest.
