Description A 679 UM
Corn hybrid A 679 UM is a mid-season hybrid with FAO 290, distinguished by high adaptability to various climatic conditions and rapid water release. This variety exhibits good yield both under optimal and stressful growing conditions. The plant is of medium height with a cylindrical, short ear, colored stalk, and intermediate type kernels, closer to dent, with yellow-orange coloring at the top.

The maturation period for corn A 679 UM is approximately 83 days, corresponding to a mid-season maturity. The ear has a conical shape, length from 21 to 26 cm, and weight from 170 to 230 grams. The milk-colored kernels have excellent taste, making this variety particularly attractive for boiled consumption, as well as for canning and freezing.

The plant is heat-loving and requires sufficient watering; it poorly tolerates temperatures below 12 °C. Characteristics of the tassel include medium or late flowering, a long main axis with a small angle between it and lateral branches, which are straight and short. Anthocyanin coloration of silk is moderate. This hybrid is recommended for cultivation in all regions, as confirmed by its inclusion in the state register.
