Chrysanthemum Krizhinka

Growing the 'Kryzhynka' Chrysanthemum

The 'Kryzhynka' cultivar, developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, sets a standard for compact decorative chrysanthemums for those who value predictable results. With a plant height of up to 30 cm, it does not require structural supports or complex staking, significantly simplifying maintenance throughout the growing season.

Usage and Maintenance

For the gardener, this variety is convenient primarily due to its versatility. Its low stature makes it ideal for front-border flower beds or container gardening. In pots, 'Kryzhynka' is stable; its root system is compact, allowing for the use of standard-sized containers without the risk of the soil ball drying out too quickly.

• Watering: Requires moderate but consistent moisture. For container gardening, ensure proper drainage to prevent water stagnation.
• Flowering: The medium-flowered form (5–10 cm) with elegant petals retains its decorative appeal for a long period. Its white-and-pink coloration makes it a versatile tool for landscape design.
• Care: Minimal effort is required—timely deadheading of faded blooms will stimulate a second wave of flowering. The cultivar is well-adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine and shows resilience against autumn temperature fluctuations.

If you are looking for a reliable, aesthetically pleasing option to decorate a terrace or open garden space, 'Kryzhynka' is an excellent choice that combines high ornamental value with ease of cultivation.
