Chrysanthemum Starfall

Compact elegance for the autumn landscape

Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, the 'Zvezdopad' (Starfall) chrysanthemum is a prime example of Ukrainian breeding. This variety is designed for gardeners who prioritize structural consistency: the plant naturally forms a dense, perfect sphere that reaches its full glory in October.

Distinctive features:

• Low-maintenance structure: With a height of up to 30 cm, this cultivar maintains a naturally compact habit. Unlike taller varieties, it does not require staking or complex pruning to keep its shape.
• Versatility in use: While excellent in the open ground, 'Zvezdopad' shines as a container plant. Its size is perfect for pots and patio boxes, offering a sophisticated late-season aesthetic for entrances and balconies.
• Delicate color range: The mix of pink, yellow, and white shades creates a shimmering visual effect, which inspired the name of the variety.

Pros and Cons:
The primary advantage of 'Zvezdopad' is its resilience. Its mid-sized blooms are robust enough to withstand autumn wind and rain, which often ruin larger, heavy-headed varieties. It is an ideal "finish" for the garden season. However, the variety is highly light-demanding. If planted in partial shade, the plant may lose its dense spherical shape and become leggy. To ensure maximum performance, provide it with full sunlight.

This chrysanthemum is the optimal solution for those looking to add a professional, tidy look to their borders or patio arrangements without spending hours on plant maintenance.
