Seedling of Large-fruited No. 6 from open pollination. Originator — Tatarian Research Institute of Horticulture. Authors: L.A. Sevastyanova, V.A. Naumov. Introduced into the State Register in 1997 for the Middle Volga region.
Tree — bush, dwarf; crown rounded, dense, foliage strong; leaf narrowly oval, oval, dark green; without anthocyanin, apex strongly pointed, base acute, serration of edge finely double-toothed, surface of blade shiny, pubescence on lower surface absent, blade slightly curved along central vein; petiole short (10 mm), thin, with weak anthocyanin at base; flowers very small, petals arranged freely, white, stigma positioned relatively higher than stamens. Flowering and fruiting type mixed.
Fruit: mass 3.6 g, height 15 mm, width 18 mm, thickness 15 mm, shape broadly rounded, shape of calyx narrow, small, rounded, apex rounded with a tip; color red, flesh color light-red, juice color light-pink, flesh density medium; pedicel short (39 mm), thin; stone oval, mass 0.2 g, 5.6% of fruit mass, light-brown, apex weakly pointed, base narrowly rounded, detachment from flesh good.
Fruit appearance satisfactory; flesh juiciness medium; flavor mediocre, slightly sour; peculiarity of detachment from pedicel — calyx flesh slightly damaged in a small part of fruits; not suitable for mechanical harvesting; resistance to fruit cracking high, medium; technical use variety.
Flowering period — 2nd-3rd decade of May; ripening period late, fruit ripening uniform, age of fruiting medium (on 3rd year after planting); plant longevity — 18 years; self-fertile. Yield — 7.5 t/ha. Tree, branches and generative buds resistant to winter frosts; flowers moderately resistant to spring frosts, moderately resistant to coccomycosis and cherry sawfly; resistant to gummosis (gummose).
Production evaluation of the variety is good; use of the variety — for amateur and industrial cultivation, as a selection resource. Suitable for intensive orchards. Dry matter content — 15.02%, sugars — 8.94%, free acids — 1.36%, ascorbic acid — 10.5 mg/100g.
Advantages of the variety: winter hardiness, yield, self-fertility, dwarf growth, good rooting ability of green cuttings.
Disadvantages of the variety: fresh fruits of mediocre flavor.
