This variety was developed at the Maykop Experimental Station of VIR (from seed) in 1937. Hybrid of unknown parent forms. Introduced into the State Register in 1988 for the North Caucasus region.
Tree is vigorous, with a medium-branched, sparsely-leaved oval crown. The top is narrowly rounded, the base is broadly wedge-shaped, stem height 60 cm, 35 cm in circumference, bark smooth, light gray, with occasional brown, convex, transverse tubercles. Skeletal branches are thick, emerge at 45° and 60° angles, straight, bark light gray, with occasional dark brown, transverse tubercles and light gray, grooved coating. One-year growth is weak, shoots 22–53 cm long, 4–6 mm thick, straight, sometimes slightly curved, dark purplish-brown on sunny side, green in shade, with small, sparse, brown subcutaneous dots, base with brown, grooved coating, rounded. Leaf buds are small. Flower buds are large (5 x 3 mm), conical, with pointed apex, dark brown, protruding. Located on simple rings, one per leaf axil, twigs, and branches — one to six-year-old wood. Leaf buds are conical, with pointed apex, brown, slightly projecting. One-year leaf growth is medium (9–5.4 cm; 8.4–5.5 cm), from egg-shaped to inversely egg-shaped. Base from broadly arched to narrowly arched. Apex bluntly pointed. Leaf blade thick, leathery, corrugated, underside green, with brown hairs along main vein. Leaf blade is curved across main vein. Leaf margin smooth, single- or double-toothed. Petiole short (1.4–1.6 cm long, 2 mm thick), dark raspberry-colored, with small groove, weakly hairy along groove, emerges at 30–60° angle. Stipules vary from small to large, round, black, located two per petiole or near leaf blade base, sometimes absent. Bracts are very small, broadly lanceolate, undivided. Flowers are evenly distributed in crown, sparse, 1–2, rarely 3, from buds. Corolla is flat, medium 25 mm. Petals inversely egg-shaped, length 12 mm, width 6 mm, medium, white, slightly overlapping. Apex serrated, corrugated, medium. Stamens 24, 26, or 28, length 10 mm, straight, anthers 2-lobed, yellow. Pistil one — 12 mm, slightly curved, stigma round, located above anthers. Ovule slightly hairy. Calyx narrowly bell-shaped, calyx lobes triangular, length 5 mm, width 2.5 mm, surface glabrous, serration medium. Pedicel medium — 12 mm, without hairs. Flowers bloom simultaneously with leaf unfolding.
Fruits large (4.7–0.6 g), uniform, from round to elongated-round (42.5 x 41.5 x 43.1), blue-purple, base broadly rounded with narrow, fine pit. Apex rounded, with very fine depression, center has brown spot, sometimes shifted toward seam. Seam represented by narrow, dark line. Skin thick, rough, tart, slightly bitter, poorly separates from flesh. Flesh greenish-yellow, juicy, granular-fibrous, sweet, taste 4 points, easily separates from pit. Pit large, average weight 1.8 g, flat. Peduncle long (18 cm), medium thickness (1.2–1.6 mm), slightly curved, brown, without hairs, well attached to fruit. Fruits very attractive, tart-sweet flavor. Suitable for all types of processing and fresh consumption. Fruits contain 17.91% dry matter, including 11.98% sugars, 1.09% acids, 1.9 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Variety dessert, table, dried fruit. Fruits dry well, giving 22.3% good prune yield with 58.15% sugar content in drying.
Medium-late ripening variety. Self-fertile. Fruit-bearing abundant, but with partial periodicity. Trees are winter-hardy, relatively resistant to fungal diseases.
