European plum Purple

Technical Profile of the 'Violet' Plum

The 'Violet' variety is a representative of the domestic plum (Prunus domestica) category, engineered for consistent yield stability and structural integrity. From a cultivation standpoint, this variety is valued for its reliable metabolic performance during the maturation phase, even under fluctuating climatic conditions.

Physical and Chemical Fruit Characteristics

The core advantage of this variety lies in the morphology of its skin and tissue density. The fruit exhibits high sugar content balanced with moderate acidity, making it suitable for both fresh consumption and long-term industrial processing. The skin's thick waxy bloom serves as an essential barrier, preventing dehydration and protecting the fruit from environmental stressors.

• Coloration: Deep violet skin with an intense bloom.
• Flesh density: Firm, ensuring excellent durability during logistics and long-distance transport.
• Pit separation: Engineered for high processability, allowing for efficient pitting during large-scale food manufacturing.

Agrotechnical Considerations

The 'Violet' plum demonstrates high adaptability across various soil types, provided that proper drainage is established. To optimize productivity, the root system requires targeted nitrogen and potassium supplementation during the vegetative stage. A key technical feature of this variety is its inherent resistance to common stone fruit pathogens, which allows farmers to reduce the frequency of chemical interventions while maintaining fruit quality throughout the season.
