Celery Emni

Reliable Leaf Celery Production: Working with «Emni»

When it comes to continuous greens production, predictability is the most important factor. The leaf celery «Emni» from the Czech breeder Semo is a variety where expectations meet reality from the very first growth cycle. In field conditions, the variety shows excellent uniformity, which greatly simplifies mechanized harvesting. The leaves form intensively and recover quickly after cutting, allowing for maximum yield per acre throughout the season.

Agronomic Insights

«Emni» requires quality irrigation and timely fertilization, but in return, it provides a dense, deeply colored rosette with a pronounced aroma. Unlike many hybrids, there is no loose foliage here—the plant is dense and transports well, which is critical for fresh market sales or processing. Its resistance to temperature fluctuations during the off-season allows for confident planting in open fields without the risk of losing crop density after the first cold nights.

• High regeneration rate after cutting.
• Compact rosette architecture, easy to package.
• High essential oil content, ensuring an attractive market appearance.

Field maintenance for «Emni» involves standard practices: pest monitoring and moisture management. The variety is not temperamental and does not require overly specific conditions, making it suitable for both intensive agribusinesses and smaller farming plots. The key is to avoid over-maturing, ensuring the leaves maintain the tender texture that customers appreciate.
