Celery NUGET

Practical Approach to Stalk Celery Production

The 'Nuget' stalk celery, developed by the Czech breeding company Semo, is designed for professional growers focused on high-quality produce for the fresh market. Unlike more temperamental varieties, this hybrid offers a predictable growth cycle, allowing farmers to plan harvest windows and supply chain logistics with high precision.

Field Performance and Economic Value

For growers, 'Nuget' serves as a reliable tool for meeting strict market requirements. Its biological traits directly influence daily operations:

• Management Efficiency: The plant develops a strong, upright rosette. This structural consistency makes mechanical inter-row cultivation and fertilizer application straightforward and less labor-intensive.
• Post-Harvest Durability: Stalks are characterized by a dense, crisp texture. This structural integrity minimizes bruising during the harvesting process and ensures the product arrives at retail outlets in excellent condition.
• Market Readiness: Because the stalks maintain their juiciness and flavor profile for an extended period, growers have greater flexibility in their harvest schedule, adjusting for price fluctuations in the market.

Whether cultivating in small-scale market gardens or larger industrial plots, 'Nuget' provides the reliability expected from European breeding standards. It is the ideal choice for those who prioritize commercial yield, consumer satisfaction, and reduced post-harvest losses.
