Description Diamant
Root celery variety Diamant (Diamant) is a medium-maturing type with a vegetative period of about 150 days, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in protected soil. The plant forms a strong semi-erect rosette of medium size with deeply lobed dark green leaves and short light-green petioles. The variety is cold-resistant, continuing growth and not forming flower stalks at low temperatures, but does not tolerate frost, so planting should be done in warmed soil, avoiding spring night frosts. For successful cultivation, Diamant requires loose, fertile soil, regular abundant watering, fertilization, and hilling.

The roots of the Diamant variety are large, round, with a smooth surface and no internal cavities, facilitating cleaning. The weight of the roots ranges from 0.5 to 1.5 kg, with a diameter of 5-7 cm. The flesh is white or cream-colored with a characteristic piquant aroma and flavor. Celery is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for drying and adding to various dishes. Due to its resistance to cracking and bolting, the roots retain their market appearance and quality during storage and transportation.

The Diamant variety is characterized by high yield — from 6 to 10 kg per square meter, good transportability, and a long storage period, which can reach up to six months. It is resistant to drought and certain diseases such as septoria, making it a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners. Diamant is grown using seedlings and requires avoiding dense planting for optimal root development. This variety is ideal for both fresh markets and processing, providing a stable and high-quality harvest.
