Celery Albin

Technical specifications of 'Albin' celeriac

Celeriac 'Albin' from PMP 'Tiras' is an early-maturing variety designed for efficient commercial production. It reaches technical maturity in just 70–80 days after transplanting. This short vegetation period is a crucial strategic advantage for growers targeting early-season market demand, where timing dictates final profitability.

Morphology and root quality analysis

The core value of the 'Albin' variety lies in its selection, focused on achieving uniformity and high marketability:

• Shape and surface profile: The rounded root shape combined with a smooth skin texture significantly minimizes processing losses. This reduction in waste is vital for streamlining post-harvest packing and mechanical peeling.
• Internal density: The flesh is characterized by a high dry matter content, dense texture, and a lack of cavities. The consistent white color of the pulp, free from dark internal discolorations, meets the strict quality requirements of the HoReCa and processing industries.
• Yield uniformity: When managed with appropriate agricultural practices, the variety maintains excellent sizing, ensuring that the majority of the harvest meets top-grade standards.

Agronomic utility

Incorporating 'Albin' into an intensive farming cycle allows for optimized crop rotation. Due to its short life cycle, producers can plan their fields with higher flexibility. To maximize the yield potential, it is essential to maintain consistent moisture levels, particularly during the rapid root development phase. The variety demonstrates good stability under standard growing conditions, providing a predictable and reliable yield for professional vegetable producers.
