NANSEN

Nansen carrot is a mid-season root crop with bright orange flesh, characterized by high juiciness, crispness, and distinct sweetness. The roots have a classic cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, measuring 10-18 cm in length and weighing 90-150 grams. The small core makes this variety particularly attractive for fresh consumption and for preparing diverse dishes. Due to its high content of beta-carotene and other vitamins, Nansen carrot is a valuable product for baby food, promoting the normalization of the digestive system and supporting the health of the growing body.

The variety is distinguished by good yield, reaching up to 430 centners per hectare, and disease resistance, making it suitable for growing in various regions, including the Moscow region. The ripening period is from 90 to 130 days. For successful cultivation, Nansen carrot requires fertile, well-drained, and moist soils, as well as careful care during seed germination and preventing soil drying. Pre-soaking seeds in room temperature water for a day followed by drying until free-flowing and sowing at a depth of 2-3 cm is recommended.

Special attention by breeders was given to the increased content of nutrients and vitamins, making Nansen carrot an ideal choice for baby food. After proper thermal treatment, the amount of beneficial substances in the carrot even increases, and the puree made from it is easily digested by the child's body.
