Maximizing Storage Potential: Working with the «Amazing» Hybrid

When planning for long-term storage, compromising on seed quality is a losing strategy. «Amazing» from Bejo is a Dutch-bred hybrid that brings predictability to your production cycle. It is designed for growers who prioritize consistency and top-tier marketability late in the season.

Growing Dynamics

With a maturity period of 140–150 days, this hybrid requires strategic planning. In the field, «Amazing» is vigorous and covers the soil well, which reduces weed pressure and keeps moisture balanced. It handles standard fertilization programs effectively without showing signs of stress, making field management straightforward.

Harvest and Market Quality

The resulting heads, weighing 3.0–4.0 kg, are perfect for both retail packaging and wholesale. The flat-round shape is highly efficient for container storage, preventing damage and maximizing warehouse space. Even after months in storage, the dark green color remains vibrant, which is a key selling point for buyers.

• Storage Performance: This is where the hybrid excels. It maintains exceptional density and internal structure throughout the winter.
• Low Maintenance: The dense waxy layer acts as a natural shield, keeping pest pressure low and reducing the need for excessive chemical sprays.
• Efficiency: High uniformity across the crop allows for smoother harvest operations and less sorting labor at the end of the season.

For those looking to supply the market during the late winter and early spring when high-quality fresh produce is scarce, «Amazing» is a reliable tool to protect your profit margins and maintain a high-quality product portfolio.
