Carrot Bureau F1

A Reliable Crop for Processing and Long-Term Storage

Working with the Buro F1 hybrid from Nunhems gives farmers a predictable yield, which is essential for sales planning. This Dutch hybrid performs consistently well both in fields intended for processing and in film-covered plots, where rapid maturity is critical.

Agronomic Traits and Resilience

The 100–110 day maturity cycle allows for a precise harvest schedule. The hybrid shows excellent resistance to Alternaria, which significantly simplifies plant protection programs: fewer fungicide applications mean higher profitability. The roots feature a classic conical shape with a length of 15–20 cm, making them ideal for mechanized harvesting and subsequent processing on vegetable lines.

Storage and Marketability

The main asset of Buro F1 is its storability. The ability to store the crop for 3–4 months allows growers to avoid selling products at "dumping" prices immediately after harvest and wait for market stabilization. The intense orange color of the root remains vibrant even after months in storage, making it highly attractive for retail and processing. With proper temperature control, waste is kept to a minimum, and the uniformity of the roots reduces sorting time and labor costs.
