Ranitop is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety of red cabbage of Dutch selection, maturing in 60-65 days. This variety is distinguished by round, dense heads of a beautiful red-purple color with a rich dark purple leaf tint, covered with a wax coating of medium intensity. The leaves are large, slightly blistered and slightly wavy at the edge, and the head retains a rich dark purple hue on cross-section and possesses a good taste. The average weight of a head is from 1.2 to 2 kg, which makes Ranitop convenient for growing and harvest collection.
The variety is distinguished by high yield - up to 5 kg per square meter, resistance to bolting, diseases and pests, which ensures a stable and quality harvest. Ranitop is grown mainly in open ground during the spring-summer period, with sowing of seeds recommended at the beginning of May followed by pricking out, regular watering and top dressing to achieve maximum productivity. The leaf rosette of this variety is horizontal, and the stalk is of medium length, which facilitates care and harvest collection.
Ranitop cabbage is universal in application: it is excellent for fresh consumption, salad preparation, pickling and stewing. Thanks to its dense structure and good taste, this variety also suits short-term storage for up to 1-2 months, which allows using it throughout the season. The bright color and crunchy texture make Ranitop not only useful but also an attractive addition to any table.
