PRETINO is an early hybrid of red cabbage, intended for the fresh market and processing. The vegetative period is about 65 days, which allows for a harvest in a short time. The plant has an open rosette of leaves with broadly ovoid purple leaves covered with a waxy coating of medium or strong intensity, with wavy edges. Heads are round in shape, dense and attractive red color, which makes the variety in demand for early fresh product sales.
Head weight varies from 1.1 to 2.0 kg, depending on growing conditions, while the stalk is short with a medium internal length. The plant is resistant to bolting, which ensures yield stability and high product quality. The recommended planting density is 40,000–50,000 plants per hectare, which contributes to optimal development and head formation.
The variety is characterized by good taste and high yield, reaching 4.4–6.0 kg per square meter. Thanks to its characteristics, PRETINO is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
