Cabbage PICANT

Yield Stability and Storage Potential

When selecting white cabbage for long-term winter storage, 'Pikant' from the Sedek seed company stands out for its predictable field performance and exceptional shelf life. Developed by a team of originators led by S.V. Dubinin, this variety demonstrates excellent adaptability to various growing conditions. The key value of this cabbage is its ability to maintain high marketability for 10–12 months, making it a strategic asset for large-scale vegetable storage facilities.

Cultivation and Handling

Experienced growers note that the variety responds well to standard agronomic practices. The heads feature shapes ranging from rounded to flat-rounded, which is convenient for mechanized harvesting and systematic container loading. The dense structure of the head minimizes damage during transportation, while its versatility makes it suitable for both the fresh market and large-scale processing.

• Shelf life: up to 12 months without losing density.
• Versatility: excellent for fermentation, pickling, and fresh retail.
• Consistency: Sedek breeding guarantees uniformity across the harvest when technology is followed.

If you are looking for a crop that remains reliable through mid-winter and retains its crunch, 'Pikant' will exceed expectations. It requires no specialized cultivation techniques beyond standard care, and it is forgiving of minor management errors, ensuring a high-quality product is ready for delivery whenever the market demands.
