Cabbage Arktika

Arctic Cabbage: Reliability for Long-Term Storage

For farmers focusing on extended supply, the 'Arctic' cabbage from 'Agrofirma Poisk' is a top-tier choice. This late-maturing hybrid is built for one main purpose: shelf life. In practice, the heads maintain excellent internal structure and weight for 10-12 months, allowing for successful sales in the off-season when market prices are highest.

Field Performance and Management

We recommend a plant density of 40-50,000 plants per hectare. This spacing ensures consistent, round heads that are dense and easy to handle during harvest and transport. Developed by experts K.N. Klimenko and S.V. Maksimov, the plant shows strong resilience to local climate variations, making it a low-risk option for commercial production.

• Storage Potential: Up to 10-12 months of storage without losing crunch or structural integrity.
• Versatility: High density makes it excellent for both fresh market sales and commercial processing (shredding/fermentation).
• Market Appeal: Sturdy, round heads retain their commercial quality even after months in storage, minimizing losses.

Working with 'Arctic' is straightforward. It is highly responsive to standard fertilization and irrigation schedules and is remarkably easy to maintain. If your business model involves storage and late-season distribution, this cabbage from Agrofirma Poisk provides the consistency needed to manage your supply chain effectively.
