Sonestá F1 is an early-maturing bush hybrid of broad bean, maturing in 50-70 days from germination to technical maturity. The plant is compact, about 30-40 cm tall, with bright yellow pods 11-13 cm long, characterized by a tender texture without fibers and high flavor quality. The beans are green, and the pods are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for preparing soups, stews, canning, and freezing. The beans are not intended for human consumption.
The hybrid is resistant to adverse weather conditions and various diseases, making it a reliable choice for open-ground cultivation. Sow seeds at the end of May or beginning of June at a temperature not lower than +12°C, on fertile, light soils, with planting depth of 4-8 cm. The optimal planting scheme for bush beans is 20x30 cm, usually in three to four rows in checkerboard pattern. Planting alongside thyme is beneficial, as it repels black aphids.
Harvest regularly, every 3-4 days, when the seeds reach the size of wheat kernels. For long-term storage, beans are recommended to be frozen. The crop is valuable for its high content of easily digestible proteins, comparable to meat and fish, as well as a large amount of iron, which contributes to the formation of red blood cells and improves immunity. Additionally, beans are a leguminous crop that enriches soil with nitrogen through symbiotic bacteria, enhancing soil fertility.
