Basil LIMONCHIK

A Zesty Accent for Your Garden

The 'Limonchik' basil variety by Agrofirma Aelita is a top choice for those who value both aesthetic appeal and a distinctive aromatic profile. Developed by breeders Natalia Nastenko, Vladimir Kachaynik, and Mikhail Gulkin, this variety is designed for both professional herb production and personal home gardening.

Growth and Cultivation

Reaching a height of 50–60 cm, 'Limonchik' forms a compact plant with fine, elongated leaves. This structure makes it highly efficient for dense planting in greenhouses or indoor pots. Seeds typically germinate within 10–14 days. Sunlight is the primary driver of quality for this variety; adequate light intensity is crucial to developing the signature lemon scent. When growing indoors, supplementary LED lighting is strongly recommended to maintain the plant's essential oil concentration.

Practical Applications

• Culinary Use: Its unique blend of spicy and sweet notes makes 'Limonchik' a staple for fresh salads. The citrus undertones elevate dishes without the bitterness found in other varieties.
• Pickling and Marinades: This basil is exceptionally well-suited for marinades. Its spicy profile enhances the natural flavor of preserved vegetables, adding a refined citrus finish.
• Seasonings: When dried, 'Limonchik' provides a concentrated base for gourmet sauces and dry rubs, particularly for white meat and seafood pairings.

By choosing 'Limonchik' from Agrofirma Aelita, growers receive high-quality planting material capable of delivering consistent yields. Whether you are a commercial producer targeting the fresh herb market or a home gardener, this variety offers a reliable and highly functional solution for your planting needs.
