AJUR PURPURNYY

AJUR PURPURNYY — mid-early variety of basil, intended for cultivation in both open and protected ground, as well as on balconies and terraces. The plant is semi-spreading, well-foliaged, reaches a height of 40-45 cm and has a mass of about 180-200 g. The dark purple leaves have a strong spicy aroma and a piquant spicy-tart taste, which makes this variety particularly valuable for culinary use.

This basil is demanding regarding warmth and light, so it is recommended to plant it in well-sunlit and wind-protected areas. The plant is moisture-loving and responds positively to nitrogen fertilizers, which contribute to an increase in green mass yield. To improve bushiness and form a denser crown, it is recommended to pinch the tops of the plants.

AJUR PURPURNYY is widely used fresh as a spicy-flavoring additive to vegetable and meat dishes, as well as marinades. In dried form, it serves as an excellent spice. Moreover, this variety has therapeutic and preventive properties, being used in kidney and gallbladder diseases. Strong aromaticity is preserved in dried plants for up to three years, which ensures high amateur demand for this variety.
