Barley Zuben

The reliability of Mironivka breeding in the spring sector

The «Zuben» barley is a targeted development by the V.M. Remeslo Mironivka Institute of Wheat, designed for farmers who need predictable results under Ukraine's changing climatic conditions. Unlike high-intensity foreign hybrids that require perfect conditions, this variety demonstrates exceptional adaptability.

Key yield characteristics

With a ripening period of 85–95 days, «Zuben» serves as a convenient tool for crop rotation planning. Its two-row ear combined with a high 1,000-seed weight (45–50 grams) produces large, well-filled grain. This is particularly important for farms focused on food production and the malting industry, as the nitrogenous content in the dry residue reaches 12–14%.

Strengths and limitations

• Strengths: The compact plant height (70–80 cm) ensures resistance to lodging, which simplifies harvesting. A high grain test weight provides a competitive advantage when selling to elevators.
• Target audience: This variety is an optimal choice for farmers in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia regions who need a balance between early maturity and high feed value.
• Weaknesses: Like most intensive-type varieties, it requires strict adherence to mineral nutrition standards. On poor soils without basic fertilization, the potential of the ear is not fully realized.

By choosing «Zuben», you are investing in domestic breeding that has proven its viability in Ukrainian realities, offering a balance between cultivation efficiency and the quality of the final product.
