Svitoch Nosivskyi

The spring barley variety 'Svіtoch Nosivskyi' is a high-yielding and adaptable variety for cultivation throughout all regions of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie. The vegetation period of this variety is 83-86 days, and plant height reaches approximately 77 cm. This medium-maturing variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and major diseases such as powdery mildew, helminthosporiosis, and brown rust. Drought resistance is rated at 8 points, ensuring stable yields under water-deficit conditions.

The yield of the 'Svіtoch Nosivskyi' variety significantly exceeds the average yields of varieties registered over the past five years. During state trials, yields in the Steppe region were 77.7% higher, in the Forest-Steppe region — 23.2% higher, and in the Polesie region — 32.6% higher. The potential yield reaches 7 tons per hectare. The grain has a high protein content — 12.5-12.8%, and the 1000-grain weight varies from 41 to 47 grams, indicating high product quality.

The recommended seeding rate is 3.5-4.5 million seeds per hectare. Seeds are supplied in packages of 1000 kg and require storage at a temperature of +7-10°C with humidity not exceeding 10%. The variety is intended for grain use and is recommended for widespread application due to its high agronomic characteristics and resistance to adverse conditions.
