Maize DKC3912

Genetic Architecture and Crop Defense

The DKS3912 hybrid from Monsanto is based on a classic simple hybrid architecture, ensuring the maximum manifestation of the heterosis effect. In field conditions, this translates into uniform emergence, identical plant height, and synchronous flowering, which are critical for effective agronomic management and mechanized harvesting.

Biological Shield Against Pathogens

A key engineering decision in this hybrid is its built-in resistance to specific threats typical of intensive corn cultivation technologies:

• Fusarium Ear Rot: Monsanto's genetic selection has strengthened the protective barrier of the ear and stalk. In practice, this reduces the risk of mycotoxin accumulation, which directly impacts the commercial quality of the grain at the point of sale.
• Common Smut: Enhanced immunity to this pathogen minimizes yield losses under high humidity and stressful temperature fluctuations. The plant maintains tissue integrity, which prevents the spread of infection within the crop.

The use of a simple hybrid type ensures that every unit of planting material possesses an identical set of traits. Growers choose DKS3912 to achieve predictable results: thanks to a stable immune background, this hybrid minimizes expenditures on fungicidal treatments aimed at controlling major ear diseases.
