MIP Myroslav

Barley MIP Myroslav — this is a medium-maturing winter barley variety, registered in 2018 and developed by the Myronivska Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. It belongs to the nutans group and is characterized by a 58-60-day period from germination to heading. Plants are medium-height, reaching 85-90 cm, with high drought resistance (8-9 points) and good resistance to lodging (6-7 points) and shattering (9 points). The variety is resistant to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf spot, and dwarf rust, with resistance ratings of 6-8 points. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 46.8 to 50.2 g, and protein content varies from 10.9 to 12.3 %.

The genetic yield potential of the MIP Myroslav variety exceeds 8.7 t/ha, confirmed by competitive trials from 2014-2016, where yield was 0.84 t/ha higher than the standard. Due to its characteristics, this variety ensures high yield and grain quality, making it attractive for planting under various agroclimatic conditions.

To protect barley MIP Myroslav from diseases, it is recommended to use integrated measures, including planting resistant varieties, which reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. An important protective measure is seed treatment using approved fungicides based on different active ingredients, which helps prevent infections and improve seed quality. Following agronomic recommendations and using effective protective measures contribute to maintaining plant health and maximizing yield.
