Barley MEDIUM 269

MEDIUM 269 is a mid-season spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety with high and stable productivity. This variety was created at the Krasnokutskaya Breeding and Experimental Station of the NIISS of the South-East. It has a pedigree of Medium 278/97 x Nutans 553. It belongs to the steppe agroecotype, is drought-resistant and heat-tolerant, making it particularly suitable for cultivation in regions with hot and dry climates. The variety yield reaches 6.3 t/ha and exceeds standard varieties in the Lower Volga region by 11-14%.

MEDIUM 269 is recommended for cultivation in various zones, including Western, Northern and Central Left-Bank zones of the Saratov region, as well as the Lower Volga region.
