The "Worthy" barley variety is a six-row feed and grain variety known for its high adaptability to southern and arid regions. It is characterized by early maturity, ripening 5-7 days earlier than the "Osnova" variety, allowing for effective use in various agroclimatic zones. Plant height reaches 100-105 cm; the yellow spike is 6-8 cm long, rectangular in shape, and consists of 10-11 chinks on a 4 cm spike axis. The grain is large, yellow, and oval-shaped, with a 1000-grain mass of 42-43 g, which is a high figure for winter barley. The variety has high resistance to adverse factors: frost resistance is rated at 7 points, drought resistance at 7-8 points, ensuring stable productivity in complex climatic conditions. Additionally, "Worthy" is distinguished by its resistance to powdery mildew, black and blistered loose smut, as well as lodging, which significantly reduces crop losses and improves grain quality. The bushiness of the variety is particularly pronounced with late autumn seedlings and early spring emergence, while the foliage has an intermediate green color with a weak waxy coating during tillering. The wide application of the variety is due to its universality: grain is used as animal feed, as well as in the food industry for producing pearl and groats, flour, coffee surrogates, in brewing, confectionery, and pharmaceutical industries. High yield, which reached 99 ц/га in variety trials, and adaptability to various soils make "Worthy" in demand among agrarians. The possibility of sowing in February windows and good frost tolerance expand the sowing periods and regions for this variety.
