Barley Ebson

Field Performance of Ebson Winter Barley

When selecting winter barley for the season, the primary goals are stable grain weight and resilience against local diseases. The Czech variety 'Ebson' by Oseva Eximpo Praha S.R.O proves that you can maintain control over your harvest without excessive fungicide use. This variety is highly predictable, which is essential for large-scale operations.

Handling Ebson during the growing season and at harvest is straightforward. The plant height (110–120 cm) is perfect for modern combines: it provides enough biomass without creating issues with lodging or excessive straw density. With a thousand-grain weight of 50–52 grams, you are looking at a full, plump kernel that performs exceptionally well on the scale during weighing.

Disease Resistance and Cost-Efficiency

The standout feature of Ebson is its natural hardiness. This variety shows excellent resistance to leaf rust, dwarf rust, and powdery mildew. By choosing a variety with this level of genetic immunity, you can effectively reduce the number of fungicide passes. Since it is resistant to viral mosaic diseases, you don't have to worry about the crop declining during a cold, wet spring.

• Exceptional tillering capacity, allowing for optimized seed rates.
• Sturdy stem structure, minimizing lodging risks.
• Large, high-quality grain that commands a premium market price.

Ebson is a reliable choice for farmers who prioritize technological efficiency. It rewards standard agronomic management with a high yield, allowing you to save on unnecessary chemical inputs while maintaining a high quality of the final product. It is a solid example of Czech breeding that delivers consistent results in the field.
