Barley Thorgall

French Breeding for Consistent Yields

Winter barley «Torgal» from the renowned French breeder Secobra Recherches S.A.S. is the definitive choice for agronomists prioritizing crop health and production stability. In an era where pathogens are evolving rapidly, this variety offers a robust genetic shield against the most challenging cereal diseases.

Key Advantages of Torgal

• Exceptional Disease Resistance: Torgal demonstrates superior tolerance to Net Blotch, Rhynchosporium (Leaf Scald), Powdery Mildew, and Dwarf Leaf Rust. This allows for optimized fungicide programs, potentially reducing the number of spray passes without sacrificing field performance.
• Superior Grain Quality: As a two-row barley variety, Torgal excels in producing plump, uniform kernels with high test weight, making it highly attractive for both processing and feed quality standards.
• Environmental Plasticity: Developed by Secobra to thrive in fluctuating climates, this variety manages stress factors effectively, ensuring reliable growth even in challenging spring conditions.

Torgal represents the ideal balance for growers focusing on sustainable yet intensive farming practices. By leveraging the variety's inherent resistance, farmers can significantly lower chemical input costs while maintaining a predictable harvest yield. For those seeking a blend of French genetic excellence and reliable agronomic performance, Torgal stands out as a top-tier performer in the field.
