Winter barley variety Deviaty Val is a high-yielding six-row grain variety of Ukrainian breeding, characterized by a short period of vernalization and high adaptability to various growing conditions. Average plant height ranges from 110 to 125 cm, with heads of medium length and density, featuring six rows of yellow, elongated grains. The mass of 1000 grains varies within 47-49 g, which is a high indicator for winter barley. The variety is characterized by good tillering and resistance to lodging, shattering, and various diseases, including powdery mildew, striped helminthosporiosis, black and common bunt. Deviaty Val demonstrates high yield, reaching up to 105 c/ha in variety trials, and typically 45 to 70 c/ha on farmers' fields. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polesia, forest-steppe, and steppe, thanks to its drought and frost resistance. It possesses high resistance to diseases and pests, ensuring yield stability even under unfavorable conditions. Seed treatment and fertilizer application are mandatory agronomic measures to achieve maximum productivity. The cultivation technology for Deviaty Val allows for sowing during February windows, as well as good tillering with late autumn and early spring sowing. The variety is distinguished by its early maturity and enhanced adaptability to southern regions of Ukraine. The glume is thin and narrow, hairless, while the floral lemma is wrinkled with well-expressed venation. Leaves are green, intermediate type with a slight waxy coating during tillering. Seed producer – OOO "Agro Rithm" (Odessa region), reproduction – elite and first reproduction, packaging is presented in 50 kg bags and 1000 kg big bags.
