The Morozovskoye apple variety is a winter variety bred by crossing the common Antonovka and Macintosh apples. It is a vigorous tree with a wide, rounded, and not too dense crown, growing fast and reaching great heights. The fruits of this variety are distinguished by their large size, with an average weight of about 160 g, sometimes reaching 250 g, and a correct flat-rounded-conical shape with a slightly ribbed surface. At the time of harvest maturity, the fruits have a greenish color with dark red stripes, and during consumer maturity, they acquire a beet color. The number of subcutaneous dots on the fruit surface is small.
The flesh of the apples is greenish, finely granular, dense and juicy, with an acid-sweet rich taste and a weak aroma. The acid content is about 0.94%, sugars — 8.66%, and vitamin C — 7.6%, which ensures high consumer qualities of the fruits. Harvest maturity occurs in mid-September, and the fruits can be stored in storage until February, which makes the variety convenient for long-term storage and use during the winter period.
The yield of the Morozovskoye variety is high and regular, reaching approximately 150 ц/га or 15 t/га on ten-to-thirteen-year-old trees on seedling rootstocks. The trees have medium winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests, which requires certain attention during cultivation. The variety is suitable for those who value large, juicy and tasty apples with good storage and stable yield.
