Description
The 'Druzhnoye' apple variety is a late-winter variety created in the Leningrad region through cross-breeding the Jonathan and Antonovka varieties. The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of about 4 meters, with a rounded, dense canopy. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness, capable of withstanding temperatures down to -33°C, as well as high resistance to scab and low susceptibility to pests, ensuring the reliability and longevity of plantings.
The fruits of the 'Druzhnoye' apple have a round-conical shape with pronounced ribs and weigh from 120 to 170 grams, mostly around 130 grams. Their coloration varies from greenish-yellow to light yellow with a brown-red or dark raspberry blotchy-striped blush covering a significant part of the surface. The flesh is dense, fine-grained, juicy and crisp, with a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste and a weak but noticeable aroma.
Apple ripening occurs in late September to early October, and the fruits retain their quality until March, making the variety in demand for winter consumption. Apples are not prone to shedding, yield is high, and precocity exceeds the average level. Due to its light-loving nature and good restorative ability, the 'Druzhnoye' variety is suitable for cultivation in the central region and provides a stable and quality harvest.
