The Maslovskoye apple variety is a large tree with a round crown, obtained by crossing the Redfree and Papirivka varieties. This triploid variety is characterized by an early fruit ripening period — in the Oryol region, they reach maturity from August 10 to 15, and the consumer period lasts until October 10. The trees have high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -35°C, and demonstrate immunity to scab, which significantly eases care and increases disease resistance.
Maslovskoye fruits are large, weighing up to 230 grams, medium-sized, flattened, and broadly ribbed. Their skin is glossy, dry, without a waxy coating, colored greenish-yellow with pink speckles. The fruit flesh is dense, greenish, very juicy, with a sweet-and-sour taste, making the apples attractive to consumers. The variety is characterized by high marketability and increased vitamin C content, which contributes to improving the nutritional value of the fruits.
Maslovskoye is a sun-loving tree that does not tolerate soil waterlogging, which should be taken into account when choosing a planting site. Fruiting begins at three years of age, and the tree's lifespan ranges from 20 to 50 years. Despite immunity to scab, the variety may be susceptible to some diseases, such as rust, Fusarium wilt, and spot, as well as pests, including spider mites, aphids, flea beetles, blossom weevils, moles, apple leafhoppers, and codling moths. It is recommended to consider these features in plant care and protection.
