The Elena apple variety is a summer variety with early fruit ripening, bred by Belarusian breeders by crossing the Early Sweet and Discovery varieties. The tree is medium-sized with an oval-pyramidal, slightly raised, and moderately dense crown, distinguished by high winter hardiness and regular fruiting. Fruits form mainly on simple and compound ringed clusters, which contributes to a stable yield.

Elena apple fruits have an average size — the mass of one apple ranges from 110 to 150 grams. The fruit shape is squat-round, the surface is smooth with almost imperceptible ribbing. The main color of apples is light green or yellowish, with a bright pink-red or purple blush covering 60-85% of the surface. Numerous subcutaneous dots of a gray shade are visible on the skin. The flesh is greenish-white, of medium density, with a fine-grained structure, juicy and tender, with a slight thin aroma. The taste of fruits is harmonious, sour-sweet with a predominance of sweetness, which is confirmed by a high taste rating — 4.8 out of 5 points.

The ripening period of Elena apples falls in the first and second weeks of July, and the consumer period begins in mid-July. The variety is distinguished by high transportability, drought resistance, and good yield.
