Naydenysh

Naydenysh variety of cherry plum is a promising seedling of unknown origin, developed at the Donetsk Experimental Garden Station from seeds collected at the State Nikitsky Botanical Garden. This variety is characterized by large fruits weighing 25-30 grams with bright yellow skin adorned with small pink blush spots and stripes. The flesh is dense, bright yellow, with a sweet-sour taste and pleasant aroma, making them attractive for fresh consumption and processing. The variety is highly winter-hardy and recommended for cultivation in the northern part of the southern gardening zone.

Naydenysh cherry plum trees may be single or multi-stemmed, reaching heights of 3 to 13 meters, with well-developed root systems and round, spreading crowns. The variety is early-bearing and highly productive, allowing harvests of 15 to 40 kilograms of fruit per tree already in the second or third year after planting. Leaves are broadly oval or egg-shaped, flowers are white or pale pink, blooming simultaneously with leaves or slightly earlier. The drupe fruits are round or slightly elongated, containing significant amounts of sugars, organic acids, vitamins, and minerals, ensuring not only excellent flavor but also beneficial medicinal properties.

Naydenysh cherry plum is versatile in use: fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, preservation, making jams, jellies, juices, and other processed products. Thanks to its high content of vitamins and pectins, it positively affects the digestive system, especially in cases of chronic heartburn. The variety is frost-resistant and low-maintenance, allowing cultivation in open ground with guaranteed high-quality yields and stable productivity.
