Nectarine Plum, also known as Red Nectarine, is actively cultivated in Ukraine on home plots due to its commercial appearance and attractive fruit appearance. The tree differs in fast growth, medium height, and convenient crown, which facilitates harvesting. Flowering occurs late, however fruits ripen quickly in mid-July to early August, simultaneously gathering in one moment.
Fruits reach a mass of up to 70 grams, have a yellow-green hue and are covered with a bluish bloom. Under a dense skin hides dense, elastic flesh with a sour-sweet taste and a strong aroma. Due to such characteristics, plums are widely used in cooking: jams, sauces, fillings for baking and compotes are prepared from them.
The yield of 15-20 summer trees is approximately 50 kilograms. The variety has medium winter hardiness, allowing seedlings to withstand moderately cold winters without special protective measures; in case of strong frosts, it is recommended to cover the plants. Nectarine Plum also differs in high resistance to polystigmiosis, fungi and other diseases, which makes it a reliable choice both for private gardens and commercial growing.
