Cherry plum Polumiana

Stable Yields and Natural Immunity

The «Plamenna» cherry plum, developed by the Artemivska Research Station, is a perfect choice for gardeners who prioritize tree health and reliability. Unlike many stone fruit varieties that require heavy chemical intervention, this hybrid demonstrates natural resilience against common pathogens such as mycospherellosis, powdery mildew, and brown spot. This makes it a top-tier candidate for orchards where low-input maintenance is a priority.

Tree and Fruit Profile

The tree reaches a manageable height of 3.5–4 meters, making pruning and harvesting straightforward. The fruit, weighing between 20–35 grams, features a vibrant yellow-red skin. Versatility is the primary advantage of «Plamenna»; it is equally delicious when eaten fresh or processed into jams and desserts, thanks to its firm texture and well-balanced flavor profile.

Strengths and Considerations

• Strengths: Exceptional resistance to fungal diseases, consistent yields, and convenient tree size.
• Considerations: The fruit size is moderate, which may be a drawback for high-end commercial markets looking for extra-large produce, but it is excellent for home consumption and artisanal use.

«Plamenna» is ideal for private gardeners and small-scale farmers who value a robust, healthy tree that consistently delivers quality fruit without constant supervision.
