LEFKO

The Lefko apricot variety is a medium-sized tree with a dense, rounded-to-elongated crown, reaching a height of about 4 meters. The trunk bark is smooth, brownish, with large transverse lenticels. This variety was obtained at the Far East State Academy of Agriculture and Technology through free pollination of the Khabarovsk variety and is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance.

The fruits of the Lefko apricot have an oval shape and an average weight of about 31.5 grams, with a maximum of up to 39 grams. The skin is orange, with a pleasant sweet-sour flesh that is firm, medium juice content, crisp and refreshing. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and industrial processing. Ripening occurs in early August, approximately from the 5th to the 10th, during which time, in rainy periods, the fruits do not crack, which improves their market appearance and quality.

The Lefko variety is resistant to moniliosis and has high annual yields. The trees are partially self-fertile, which contributes to stable fruiting. Growing this variety does not require special agro-technical conditions and meets standard requirements for apricots. Due to its qualities and characteristics, Lefko is an attractive choice for gardeners seeking an early and reliable apricot harvest.
