PRIKAMIE SPRING

Prikamie Spring is a medium-early variety of spring barley belonging to the nudans group. The plants are low-growing, reaching a height of about 65-67 cm, with a pyramidally-cylindrical ear measuring 6.5-7.5 cm in length and medium density. The variety is characterized by high productive tillering and large grain; the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 41 to 51 g, while the grain density is approximately 672 g/L. The grain exhibits excellent technological properties: protein content reaches 13.5%, starch is 60.3%, and hulling is about 7.76%. The plants are resistant to lodging, shattering, and spring frosts, ensuring stable yields in various climatic conditions. Prikamie Spring distinguishes itself with high yield—average yield is about 6.4 t/ha, with maximum reaching 8.0 t/ha. The vegetative period lasts approximately 71-89 days, allowing the variety to be used in regions with a moderate climate. It possesses medium drought resistance and good survivability. The variety is resistant to a range of diseases, including loose smut, is weakly affected by stem rust and striped smut, and is moderately resistant to root rots. Furthermore, the variety demonstrates resistance to soil alumino-acidity, which expands its cultivation potential. Prikamie Spring is recommended for growing in the Volga-Vyatsky region and the Udmurt Republic. Thanks to the high quality of the grain and good technological characteristics, the variety is widely used in the brewing industry. Its grain is distinguished by high extractability and optimal protein content, making it valuable for producing quality malt. The variety combines high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and excellent technological properties, ensuring its demand among agricultural producers.
