SIBIRIAN AVANGARD

Siberian Avangard is a mid-season spring barley variety belonging to fodder grain crops. It is characterized by two-rowed, flinty yellow grain with a semi-elongated shape and large size. The 1000-grain mass varies within 42-55 g, indicating high grain mass and quality. The vegetative period of the variety is 73-82 days, which allows it to be successfully grown in various climatic conditions, including steppe and northern forest-steppe zones.

The Siberian Avangard variety is distinguished by high yield and stability. Under Western Siberia conditions, average grain harvest reaches 3.8 t/hA, exceeding standard indicators by 0.5 t/hA. Thanks to this, a higher protein and starch yield per unit area is ensured. Protein content in grain is at the level of 12.9-15.5%, starch is about 56.4%, and fat is 2.27%. The variety has low flintiness, which facilitates its processing and use for fodder purposes.

Siberian Avangard shows good resistance to drought and lodging, making it suitable for cultivation in unstable climatic conditions of the Western Siberia region. It is also characterized by low susceptibility to black stem rust and medium susceptibility to loose smut, but is susceptible to loose smut. High stability and yield stability make this variety attractive for agricultural production in forest-steppe and steppe zones.
