EIBIAY VOYAGER

EIBIAY VOYAGER is a medium-early variety of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) intended for grain-forage use. It is characterized by a vegetation period of 73 to 86 days and ripens slightly later than some other varieties, such as Acha and Biom, but earlier than Signal and Omsky 95. The plant is medium-height with an intermediate bush type, featuring a pyramidally-cylindrical ear of medium density with long awned awns and medium or strong anthocyanin pigmentation at the tips. The grain is large, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 44 to 56 grams, featuring a non-hairy ventral groove and an embracing lodicule. The variety is distinguished by good yield, which in the West Siberian region averages 31.6 c/ha, which is 2.8 c/ha higher than the average standard. In the Kemerovo region, yield can reach 34.7 c/ha, exceeding the Biom standard by 5.2 c/ha. The maximum recorded yield was 77.4 c/ha in the Tyumen region. Protein content in the grain ranges from 10.5% to 13.4%. EIBIAY VOYAGER has moderate resistance to loose smut and dark brown spot, but is susceptible to helminthosporiosis, root rots, and striped spot. In field conditions, the variety is weakly affected by dusty smut. This barley variety is actively used in modern agrotechnologies, including programs for improving brewing barley quality, such as SmartBarley in the Omsk region.
