Description BAGRETZ
Bagretz is a medium-early variety of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) intended for grain and fodder use. The vegetation period ranges from 74 to 88 days; it matures 1-2 days earlier than the Gonar variety and 1-2 days later than the Acha variety. The plant is characterized by an intermediate bush type, a cylindrical ear of medium density with a strong waxy bloom. The grain is large, featuring an unbranched abdominal groove and an embracing lodicule; the mass of 1000 grains varies from 48 to 56 grams. Protein content in the grain ranges from 10.3% to 16.2%.

The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Nizhny Novgorod region and is suitable for the Volga-Vyatsky region conditions. However, Bagretz is susceptible to a number of diseases, including helminthosporiosis, root rots, powdery mildew, and stem rust, and is highly susceptible to powdery scab, which requires careful attention to crop protection.

To protect barley crops, the fungicidal treatment agent Bagretz CS is recommended. This product is a suspension concentrate containing strobilurins and phenylpyrroles, possessing both protective and curative effects against a wide range of pathogens. The treatment agent is applied both contact and systemic, has moderate hazard to humans, and is released in 10-liter cans.
