Argonavt

Winter wheat variety 'Argonaut' is a hard wheat variety developed by Russian breeders of the National Grain Center. This medium-early variety has a vegetation period of 240 to 292 days and is intended for cultivation in steppe zones, including Kazakhstan. Plant height reaches 85–95 cm, ensuring good resistance to lodging and shattering.

The 'Argonaut' variety is characterized by high yield, with test results averaging about 20 centners per hectare, with potential reaching up to 6.3 tons per hectare. The grain possesses high quality characteristics: thousand-grain weight varies from 38.2 to 46.4 g, protein content ranges from 13.0–17.2%, and gluten content reaches 28%. These indicators make the variety suitable for both food and feed purposes.

Special attention has been given to the variety's resistance to various stress factors and diseases. 'Argonaut' demonstrates high winter hardiness (5 points), drought resistance (5 points), as well as high levels of resistance to lodging (4.5–8 points) and shattering (4.5–9 points). Additionally, the variety is resistant to root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, with ratings from 5 to 7 points, ensuring stable quality and high yield under various climatic conditions.
