Wheat PACMAN

Danish Breeding for Diverse Climates

The winter wheat variety "Pacman" from the Danish company Nordic Seed A/S is a prime example of adaptive breeding focused on stability in changing climate conditions. Unlike many intensive hybrids that require a perfect agro-background, "Pacman" is a population variety that demonstrates high plasticity across various soil and climatic zones of Ukraine.

Geography and Adaptability

Officially registered in Ukraine in 2026, this variety has been tested in key agro-climatic zones: the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya. This wide cultivation geography (SLP) is due to the variety's genetically embedded ability to withstand both the arid periods of southern regions and the excessive moisture of northern areas.

Technical Features

• Variety Type: Population. This provides the variety with higher resistance to environmental stress factors compared to highly specialized hybrids.
• Origin: The Danish breeding school Nordic Seed A/S is known for its approach to creating varieties with strong tillering potential and high grain test weight.
• Recommendations: The variety is aimed at farmers who prioritize crop reliability and want to minimize risks associated with weather anomalies.

"Pacman" is the choice for those seeking a balance between yield and manageability. Thanks to its plasticity, the variety allows for efficient use of soil potential, demonstrating stable grain quality indicators even with moderate investment in intensive chemical inputs.
