The 2025 release from the V.Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, the spring wheat hybrid "IR Deneb," is engineered to thrive in the challenging environments of the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. Stress Tolerance and Field Behavior

The variety features advanced morphological defenses against heat and drought. A strong waxy coating on the underside of the flag leaf and the spike acts as a natural barrier, significantly reducing transpiration during periods of intense solar radiation. With a medium plant height and moderate waxy bloom on the upper internode, IR Deneb exhibits excellent lodging resistance. The dense, pyramidal spike with long awns ensures efficient grain filling. The absence of pubescence on the glumes and rachis segments reduces moisture retention, which helps mitigate the risk of fungal infections during the maturation phase.
