Winter wheat "Sandman" is a breeding product from the German company Deutsche Saatveredelung AG, registered in Ukraine in 2025. The main value of this complex hybrid lies in its specialized focus: the variety is aimed at producing high-quality food-grade grain of Group A. This means that the "Sandman" harvest serves as benchmark raw material for the baking industry, ensuring consistently high gluten content and superior baking properties.

Commodity Characteristics and Storage

The "Sandman" grain is characterized by its large size and red color, which, combined with high density, allows for a high flour yield during milling. Thanks to its genetically inherent resistance to lodging and high winter hardiness, the variety maintains its commercial appearance even under adverse weather conditions during the ripening period. The dense grain structure facilitates excellent transportability and long-term storage without loss of quality, which is critical for agricultural enterprises planning to sell their harvest during peak demand periods.

Technological Features

To achieve maximum grain quality, it is recommended to adhere to a seeding rate of 3.0–3.5 million viable seeds per hectare. The intensive tillering type allows the variety to efficiently utilize the feeding area, forming a stand that is uniform in height and maturity. The medium-late ripening period requires careful planning of the harvesting campaign, but the high technological efficiency of the crop minimizes losses during combining. "Sandman" is adapted for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya zones, demonstrating yield stability regardless of regional climatic conditions.
